The short version
Changing Station is a community map of baby changing stations. We collect as little as possible: your location stays on your device, accounts are anonymous by default, and there are no ads or third-party trackers. What you contribute (reviews, photos, votes, check-ins) is public — that's the whole point.
Your location
We use your device's location for one thing: finding changing stations near you. Your location is used on your device to query nearby stations and is not stored on our servers.
The only location data we keep is the coordinates of a station you explicitly choose to add to the map — that's the station's location, not yours.
Your account
When you first contribute, we automatically create an anonymous account for you — no email, no password, no name required. It exists so your contributions stay attached to you and community trust features work.
You can optionally attach an email address later (via a magic sign-in link) so you can keep your account across devices. That email is used only for sign-in links — never marketing.
What you share publicly
Reviews, photos, attribute votes, and check-ins are public user-generated content. Anyone can see them in the app and on this website. Don't include personal details you wouldn't want public.
Where your data lives
Data is stored with Supabase (hosted Postgres), our backend provider.
Third-party services
We have no ads and no third-party trackers. Two external services power core features, and your requests to them include your IP address (as with any web request):
- OpenFreeMap serves the map tiles you see when browsing the map.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim handles place search when you add a station — your search query is sent to that service.
Crash reporting
The mobile app sends anonymous crash reports to Sentry so we can find and fix bugs. A crash report includes your device model, OS version, app version, and the technical stack trace of the failure. It never includes your email address, your reviews, or your precise location, and we don't use it to identify you.
Deleting your account or content
You can delete your account and everything personal to it directly in the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. Stations and places you added stay on the map for other parents, no longer linked to you. Prefer email? Write to info@sagelanestrategies.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be called out in the app.
